Teaser on the back of the paperback version of Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer-
STAY BACK, HUMAN. You don't know what you're dealing with.
Twelve-year-old Artemis Fowl is a millionaire, a genius-and, above all, a criminal
mastermind. But even Artemis doesn't know what he's taken on when he kidnaps a
fairy, Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon Unit. These aren't the fairies of bedtime
stories-they're dangerous!

Review by Jack, 13, (Concord, MA)-
Artemis Fowl the Second is a genius, albeit, a criminal one. Ever since his father
disappeared, the family lost its billionaire status, a title that Artemis intends to reclaim
by the most unconventional methods. Primarily, kidnapping a fairy and holding the fairy
for ransom. The fairy in question, turns out to be Holly Short, an elf, and a LEPrecon
(Lower Elements Police Reconnaissance). When Holly is captured while restring her
magic, her boss, Commander Root calls in a time stop with the aid of technical centaur
Foaly to give them eight hours to get Holly back without giving up their gold, but will it be
enough?
I would rate the book a 10/10 because it had a really original plot, and very good
characters. I especially like how the author added description into the book that was
informative, and yet funny. I thought that how the author brought different characters
back in and out of the book very creative and how they had their own unique
personalities that added to the overall great plot of the book. I can't wait to read the
sequel and see what Eoin Colfer brings in!
